Hotel & Travel 2012

Hotel

Although the deadline for our special hotel rates have passed, you’ll probably want to check out the Delta Montreal for your hotel needs, since that’s where most of the other folks will be staying!

Note: It takes less than 10 minutes to walk from the Delta Montreal to the conference location!

Also, please note that there are two Delta Hotels in Montreal. The conference hotel is the Delta Montreal Hotel (475 President-Kennedy Avenue) and not Delta Centre-Ville (777 University Street, still a nice hotel and close to the conference center!).

Roommates
If you are looking for someone to split the cost of the room with you, please email us – accesslibcon at ye olde gmails – and we will coordinate a list of folks looking to share.

Travel

Public transit

Montreal’s public transit, the STM, has an express airport bus line that runs 24hrs that will bring you to and from the downtown area for $8. You can buy your ticket outside of transborder arrivals when you land in Montreal — just follow signs for “747” — or on the bus (but they accept coins only!). Keep your ticket as it good for 24 hours of travel on the bus or metro from the time of purchase.

If you are staying at the conference hotel, we recommend taking the 747 bus to the sixth stop, right after Union Street, and walking 4-block walk north to the hotel.

More information and the complete 747 route is available here.

Taxi

Taxis to downtown are a flat rate of $40. Depending on traffic, the trip can take anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour. (In Montreal there are two seasons: winter and construction. Both cause many traffic delays.)
