Register for Access 2019

Online registration for the conference is being handled through University of Alberta Libraries. Once you have successfully registered, you will receive an email confirmation and receipt. We are accepting registration payments via VISA, MasterCard, and AMEX.

REGISTRATION FEES

The Registration fee includes  full access to the two day conference as well as access to the Hackfest or workshops. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for both days of the conference. 

Be sure to secure your spot and take advantage of the conference early-bird pricing by registering before August 16, 2019.

SPEAKERS REGISTRATION

The speaker rate is $225+GST. You will receive an email with a special registration code. Please wait to register until you receive your code.

STUDENT REGISTRATION

When registering as a student you will be asked to provide your school and program. 

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES

We regret to inform that we do not issue letters of invitation to international delegates. Letters of invitation will be issued to invited conference speakers only. We encourage all participants to finalize travel arrangements before registering for Access. For more information please visit the Government of Canada’s website.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Book your accommodations early to ensure you get the nights required. The conference hotel is The Matrix, and the link below provides a rate of $160 per night, plus applicable taxes, for a Deluxe King or Double guest room. This rate includes parking, wi-fi, and access to the nightly wine & cheese reception for The Matrix guests:

SOCIAL EVENTS

When you register for the conference, you will be asked to indicate if you will be attending the social events. As we may have limited spots to our events available, please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a social event so that we can make a ticket available to an attendee on our waiting list.

  • Monday, September 30: 
    • Opening Reception at The Common (9910 109 St, a 5-min walk from The Matrix) officially 5pm-7pm but we have the venue booked all night, exclusively for Access attendees, so plan to stay late, or return after your streetcar excursion (see below)!
      • Trivia Night 7:00pm-9:30pm at 9910 (downstairs from The Common)
      • High Level Bridge Streetcar 6pm-8pm 
        • Chartered exclusively for Access attendees, hop on to head across the river and hop off to explore pubs in the historic Strathcona district, or stay onboard for a return sightseeing adventure (~35 min return trip)
  • Tuesday, October 1:
    • Dine-Arounds (locations to be announced)
  • Wednesday, October 2:
    • Stick around for our post Hackfest/Workshops pub night! (location to be announced)

CANCELLATION POLICY

Until September 16, 2019, you can receive a full refund for your registration less a $25.00 administrative fee. To request a refund, please contact Doris Wagner at doris.wagner@ualberta.ca. Cancellations received after that date will not be accompanied by a refund.  Funds collected from cancellations will be put forth to next year’s event.
